Dr. Brandt Named a "Top Doc 2010"

MedOptions’ is proud to announce that Dr. Douglas Brandt was selected as one of Connecticut’s Top Docs 2010. The list was compiled by Connecticut Magazine, which sent out over 5,000 surveys to doctors in the state asking them to recommend a colleague for their expert care. 

Dr. Brandt is a board certified adult and geriatric psychiatrist. Before joining MedOptions in April 2010, he served as Chairman of the Department of Psychiatry at Lawrence & Memorial Hospital in New London, CT. He has held numerous consulting & academic positions; including Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at Yale School of Medicine.

This is a well deserved honor for Dr. Brandt, congratulations!

 

New Frontiers In Dementia Care

On October 8th, 2010, Dr. Andrew Rosenzweig participated in a panel for dementia care and treatment in long-term care settings. He discussed the diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease using CSF markers, the roles of antipsychotic medications in long-term care, and educational programs for non-pharmacologic interventions in dementia. The panel was part of a half day symposium, New Frontiers in Dementia Care: Perspectives for Clinicians and Caregivers, co-sponsored by The Hebrew Home of Greater Washington and the Suburban Hospital, a member of Johns Hopkins Medicine.

 

In Search of Memory

On August 10th, 2010, Dr. Andrew Rosenzweig facilitated a screening of the film In Search of Memory at the Jewish Museum of Maryland. In Search of Memory is about the life of Dr. Eric Kandel, a Nobel Prize winning neuroscientist known for his work in the field of memory. Following the screening Dr. Rosenzweig answered a variety of questions from the audience; he was chosen to facilitate the screening because of his expertise in geriatrics and memory.
